Foundation Appraisers Coalition of Texas

Foundation Appraisers Coalition of Texas, Inc. (FACT) recognizes that each session the Texas Legislature addresses issues that impact Texas appraisers.  The 78th Session was no different.  Appraisers will be interested to know that a piece of legislation (S.B. 1013) was passed and was signed by Governor Perry prior to adjournment.  The legislation amends the TALCB statue by allowing a renewal extension for required ACE (appraiser continuing ed), an inactive status, and agency authority over unlicensed appraisal activity.

The difference with the 78th Session, and past sessions dating back over ten years, is that the work of the Texas Legislature did not get completed during the regular session.  The work will be continued during the Special Session(s) and there are issues that will come up that will most definitely impact appraisers!  To that end, it is advantageous to continue to have access to members of the Texas Legislature.  If you or any other appraiser knows a State Representative, State Senator or staff member, please inform Glenn Garoon, President of FACT via e-mail.
